Project Overview

The SecureAsi@ Workshop strengthened cybersecurity capabilities of network engineers and administrators across AsiaConnect partner countries. Jointly organized by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysian Research and Education Network (MYREN), and University of Hamburg (UH), this intensive three-day training empowered participants to detect, manage, and mitigate cybersecurity threats in their National Research and Education Networks (NRENs).

🎯 Project Objectives

  • Enhance cybersecurity knowledge and practical skills of NREN engineers
  • Introduce foundational cybersecurity concepts and threats
  • Provide exposure to IDS, honeypots, sandboxes, and penetration testing
  • Train in incident detection and response
  • Encourage collaboration and best practices sharing across NRENs
